Joshua Cruz

Joshua Reshal Cruz left this world to be with our Heavenly Father on February 18, 2023 in Charlotte, NC.  He spent his childhood growing up in the military community of Fayetteville, NC, under the watchful eye of his hard-working mother.  He was blessed to grow up in a multicultural household with his older brother, his two aunts and uncle. To them they were all brothers and sisters. Joshua was the youngest and they all protected and loved one another.

If Joshua had any fear he never showed it. He was the “Baby Boy” of Lawnwood and the Caspian Court generation.

Throughout his youth, Joshua loved sports and participating in wrestling, football, baseball and basketball. Joshua even won the high school state championship two times. Joshua was loved by so many. His willingness to help a stranger, his jovial personality and constant laughter showed his heart to all that knew him. His greatest love was his boys Joshua  Gerald  and Jelan Jackson  King. 

Joshua is survived by his mother and her husband, Susan Stein (Eric); brother Joseph Cruz (Wendy); uncle Jae Rhee (Hailey); aunt Jenny Ethridge (Roderick); aunt Sarah; brother Erikson Stein and sister Angelina Stein; uncles Bobby, Johnny, Stevie and Billy Anneheim. All who miss him greatly but also take solace in knowing that he is now wrapped in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father and we will be reunited with him eventually, while he enjoys his grandmother's Korean cooking in a better place.

            A remembrance for Joshua will be held at Carolina Funeral Service and Cremation on Sunday, February 26th, 2023.
