Anthony “Tony” Ramirez, Sr.

November 7, 1928 – August 1, 2021

Anthony (Tony) Ramirez, Sr. passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on August 1st, 2021 surrounded by his loving wife his oldest son and his daughter-in-law. He was born to Miguel and Prudence Ramirez on November 7, 1928.  He was born and raised in NYC, NY, where he met the love of his life Olga. They met as young children and would have been married 74 years on August 24th. Tony was father of two sons, 4 grandsons, one great granddaughter and 3 great grandsons.

Tony served his country by joining the US Navy during WW2. After relocating his family to Florida he had a 35 year career with Eastern Airlines. Tony was a man of many talents; he could build or fix anything from building one of their homes to building bird houses. In his younger years he had several friends that he enjoyed riding motorcycles with and took several long distance rides cross country with all the wives on the back of the bikes.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Sam and Mike and his sister Esther. He is survived by his wife Olga, sister Rachel, sons Tony Jr (Joan), Joseph, grandsons Todd (Robyn), Jason (Tina), Jamie (Starr), Christopher; great grandchildren, Madison, William, Rhys and Myles.

Tony will forever be missed by all who loved him but we know that he is at peace and will forever be with us.

We extend a special thanks to all of the staff members at the Pavilion in Charlotte, NC, where he received excellent care and to the outstanding team from Hospice.

A service to celebrate Tony’s life will be held on Sunday, September 19th, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Carolina Funeral Service and Cremation Center located at 5505 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212-5503.
