Charles passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022 in Harrisburg, North Carolina. He was the loving husband of the late Loretta Jean Rembold and the son late John W. Rembold and the late Florence B. Rembold.
Mr. Rembold was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. He graduated from Buffalo PS-39, Buffalo Technical High School and in 1953 he graduated from Buffalo State College. Following his graduation, Charles worked with his friend Otto . Mr. Rembold served in the Army until October 1955 when he was honorable discharged. He met Loretta in Buffalo, July 1954 while on leave. The two met thru his college friend Otto and his wife Rita. Loretta and Rita worked at the same place. Charles and Loretta were married on May 12th, 1956 at St. Rosealima R.C. Church in Buffalo, NY.
Following his honorable discharged from the Army he went to work for Streng Oldsmobile in the parts department until July 1956. Charles worked with Gus Galante home developer/builder for several months before he went to work for Bell Aircraft as an inspector. He was laid off in the summer of 1958. Following two weeks of unemployment, Charles went to work for Sylvania Electronics as a draftsman until 1968, at which time he worked for Sweeny Chevrolet in Clarence, NY as the parts manager until August 1974. He then worked at Henrich Chevrolet, Lockport, NY as assistant parts manager until worked less than a year as “ job shopper” draftsman with EGW Associates Buffalo, NY, then he worked as a Draftsman for Scott Aviation, Lancaster, NY until June 1979; at which time he went to “Joy” Manufacturing, which was sold out to Cooper industries as a Controls designer for air compressors until January 1994 when he retired.
When Charles and Loretta retired they moved to Charlotte, NC in October 1996, where they enjoyed the relaxing life of retirement and no snow or below freezing temperatures. He liked working on cars, home repairs, house wiring, fixing things and tinkering in his work shop.
Mr. Rembold was a life member of the “Holy Name Society” at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrement RC Church in Depew, NY and a life time member of the “Nocturnal Adoration Society” (First Friday Adoration to Jesus) since 1963. He was an usher for 3 years and communion usher at ST. Thomas Aquinas R.C. Church in Charlotte, NC.
He will be remembered for being a loving and devoted husband father and grandfather. Charles and Loretta were married for 62 years and had five children; Raymond Charles of East Otto NY; Thomas Joseph ( Shirley ) of Lockport, NY; Patricia Jean Profic ( Brian ) of Eden, NY; Douglas John ( Jovelyn ) of Harrisburg, NC; Mary Joyce of Cattaraugus, NY.
Charles and Loretta also have four grandchildren; Carson Tyler Profic; Camille Elizabeth Profic; Caden Duke Profic; Carly Diana Profic; and a step grandson, David Buchner ( Kimberly ); A sister, the late Florence H. Rembold and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Charles and Loretta also cared for two different foster children at different times, total of eight years.
Services will be held in Buffalo at a later date.
