Charles Willingham III died on November 10, 2021. Born July 12, 1955, Charles grew up in Downey, California. He leaves behind his three
children, Myles (31), Charles (28) and James (25). He also leaves behind his Daughter in Law, Kelsey and his Grandson Rowan.
He was one of the most authentic and passionate people I’ve ever known. No matter what he was doing - supporting his kids, advocating
for a cause he believed in, building a business, cherishing his family and friends - when Chuck cared, you knew it.
He didn’t only bring that dedication to advocacy though. He also brought it to his work. When he had a vision, he wouldn’t stop until
he made it a reality. And he found the perfect group of partners for that journey while building the Hiberanian and Solas and
Baguettaboutit and so many other businesses, many of which are still a part of the community today and a piece of the legacy he leaves
behind. He loved to see what people could accomplish working together and treasured creating spaces where people could relax and spend time
with friends and family.
As we grew up, we got to know a different side of Chuck. The Chuck who stubbornly refused to let MS keep him from what he wanted. Who loved
playing with his grandson and letting him honk the horn on his scooter. Who loved planning trips to see family and friends all around
the world. Even when his mobility was more limited, he was determined to find a way to see the people and places he loved. And as he
traveled, he always made time to meet new people and welcomed everyone to be their authentic selves.
