Deanna "Dede" Roland Obituary
As many people knew her, Dede passed away in her home suddenly on December 29, 2021, at the young age of 68. Dede was born on January 26, 1953, as the youngest daughter of Wanda and Lee Risenhoover.
She spent her childhood at the Scotia, Redwood Mill in CA until a flood caused the family to move to Marysville CA. In High School she met the love of her life and eventual husband Fred Roland. She attended Chico State and graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and worked the rest of her life as a Tax Accountant, helping clients and family members fill out and file taxes. She raised two sons Scott and Kevin who are both married and provided 4 granddaughters.
She will be dearly missed because she was a very personable, competitive, generous, loving, wife and mother. She could start up and hold a conversation with anyone on just about any topic. She loved all types of sports and could watch and enjoy any form of televised competition. However, the NFL Carolina Panthers where her favorite team. She was also a very tough fighter of multiple myeloma cancer for 9 years. Even though chemotherapy and stem cell treatment were extremely painful, she never complained of the pain. Her toughness got her through the treatments and was currently in remission.
Due to her cancer remission, she was able to do more things on her bucket list this year. She was able to travel to her hometown and attend her 50th High School class reunion. She was able to visit Disney World Orlando with her extended family. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her 4 granddaughters.
She had an awkward sense of humor and would make jokes at inappropriate times to ease tension. An example would be making jokes to ease the minds and tensions of Nurses providing chemotherapy. She had a tendency to be stubborn at times and would argue with loved ones. However, no matter the outcome would still love and respect you no matter what.
She is now in Heaven with her Mom, Dad, Tiny, Papa and Nita.
She is survived by Sister Kai (John), Husband Fred, 2 sons Scott (Christie) and Kevin (Kim) and 4 granddaughters.
