Margaret Mary (Spillman) Lepsig

 Margaret Mary Spillman Lepsig (Peggy), 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 13, 2022 surrounded by her family. 

Peggy was born 1948 in Baltimore to parents Bernice Barry and Joseph Bussy Spillman Sr.  She attended St Francis University in Loretto, PA with a degree in French and Spanish. She later acquired her graduate’s degree at Duquesne College in Pittsburgh, PA for education. Peggy later went back to get another graduate degree in 1999 for Library Science where she worked as a librarian at Sun Valley, Weddington Middle, Independence and Crestdale Middle School.

A resident of Union County for the last 40 years. She was a loving mother and devoted friend to many. Throughout her life, Peggy loved the beach, animals, playing tennis, reading books, but her biggest treasures were her three girls.

Survived by her 3 daughters, Amy Blodgett and her husband Andy, Kelly Lepsig, Christy and her husband Russell Philp. She is the adored Grandmother of Aidan, Noah, Austin, Elliott and Zoe, along with her 3 siblings, Joseph JR, Barry and her late sister, Sue.

Anyone who was lucky enough to have Peggy in their lives’ will all agree that she was one of the most gentle and beautiful souls that they will ever know.

A memorial service will be held 1P.M. Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 at St John Neumann Catholic Church, Charlotte, NC.
